At the Marin Market

Catalyst Cooks is in Marin County, California. There is a beautiful market on Sunday mornings that we went to today, in search of yummy, organic produce and cheese. I’ll be cooking up a dinner party or two, on the road!

pretty breads,

lots of people, tents, and a great skyline…

More fun in the Garden (not of Eden, but darn close: Mpls)

I’m kinda in love with my Pickle Plant. Otherwise known as cucumbers.

Stephanie gave me this as a hostess gift for a dinner party I had a month ago.

It immediately started to show the front porch who’s boss.

It kinda took over the whole joint!

Even if the pickle plant is brazen, […]

It’s July, where have I been?

Sometimes, real life happens… I’ve missed blogging in the past couple of weeks!

Three years ago today, I married Neighbor Dave. What can I say, he is the absolute best.

When we were newly dating, I found this picture of him online.

It was from a business conference website.

I doctored it up […]

Goodbye Iris, Hello Lily

I love enjoying the beauty of nature inside….

But they’re just not as pretty as they are outside

(even on a windy, rainy day like we had last weekend.)

More pictures that I took during our 24 hour – no power fun last Saturday:

I love the easy, abundant […]

Summer CSA or Farmer’s Market Essential: 7 Layer Salad

Ah, the CSA. I love June with the abundant greens and sweet early produce like turnips and green onions.

Perfect as a starting point for 7 layer salad (I of course take liberties with the number seven and make it 9 instead.)

I like to make sure that the ingredients in the […]

No Electricity and a Study of Lilies

Storms = No power for 24 hours = Laundry on the line.

Nothing like the fresh smell of curtains imparting summer smells in the house.

I was appreciating my friend Michael yesterday.

Thank you so much for the housewarming gift four years ago!

They’ve grown up beautifully.

I love and appreciate them.

Make your own Dishwasher Detergent – the experiment

Here is what it takes to make your own dishwasher detergent!

Lately, since I’ve been cooking for a living, we’re running the dishwashwer two to three times a day.

Catalyst Cooks is cooking up more than just food! I’m also cooking up my own cleaning products.

[…]

Morning Coffee Meeting, Take II

The last time I wrote about a morning coffee meeting, I was covering up. Well, I still love to host people for coffee and I still am a procrastinator and I still don’t want to go to the grocery store if I don’t have to so I still scrounge around for ingredients to whip together […]

But I Digress (or, the correlation of aging and work)

Yesterday, my friend Jennifer forwarded an article entitled “Are we Joyless working machines?”

I happen to be listening to a book on tape entitled “Three Cups of Tea.”

And I went to a winery event last night.

What do these three things have to do with each other, you ask? Well- I’m thinking today about […]

A beautiful day at Parley Lake Winery

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit and begin set up at Parley Lake Winery!

I am always amazed at the feelings of peace and serenity I feel when I go out there to visit.

Maybe it has something to do with the beauty of the place.

I made sure to bring my camera […]
